At softloud architects, we are committed to increasing the use of natural, healthy, breathable and biological building materials.
Biomaterials are part of the cycle of nature and are often repurposed, salvaged, recycled, grown or quarried with minimal impacts on nature. Biomaterials have been used by humans to create shelter for many thousands of years. With these materials, the supply chain is often transparent and personal, meaning that the environmental and social consequences arising from the use of these materials can be easily assessed. Deeper supply-chain relationships are also developed between suppliers, designers, builders and users, building resilience in the construction process.
