At softloud, we are committed to increasing the use of natural, healthy, breathable and biological building materials. These materials are part of the cycle of nature and are often repurposed, salvaged, recycled, grown or quarried with minimal impacts on nature. Biological building materials have been used by humans to create shelter for many thousands of years. With these materials, the supply chain is often transparent and personal, meaning that the environmental and social consequences arising from the use of these materials can be easily assessed, supply-chain relationships can be developed between suppliers, designers, builders and users, and more local materials can be used. This is a way to build resilience into the construction process.
